In October 2019, OECD released the results of the Starting Strong Survey, the first international survey focusing on the workforce in early childhood education and care (ECEC). This survey covering 9 countries including Japan, collected data on staff’s pedagogical practices, working conditions, professional development, etc. The purpose of this symposium is to consider and discuss what can be seen from international comparison of ECEC mainly in Japan, Norway, and Korea, based on the results of this survey.
