The delegation from the Kingdom of Cambodia visited NIER.

On Wednesday the 5th of February, 2025, we welcomed a visit of the Kingdom of Cambodia delegation; H. E. Dr. Khuon Vichheka, Director General, Teacher Education and Development, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), Deputy Director General, Teacher Education and Development, MoEYS, Director, Phnom Penh Teacher Education College(PTEC), Director, Battambang Teacher Education College(BTEC) and Principals of Attached Elementary and Junior High Schools. This visit was organized to understand the teacher policies in Japan.
Following the greetings by Director General Ikeda and H.E. Dr. Khuon Vichheka,
① Fujiwara, Director of Dept. for the Elementary and Secondary Education Research, explained how Japan had overcome the issues of teacher education through pre-service and in-service teacher training systems and how important the role of the affiliated schools.
② Murayama, Head of the Curriculum Development Div. in the Curriculum Research Center explained what kind of projects had been carried out in NIER's Cooperating Schools for Verifying Education Curriculum Implementation and how they had been utilized in policy-making.
③ Ono, Director of Dept. for the International Research and Co-operation explained the systems of Super Science High School, Super Global High School, etc. in Japan.
And we had an active discussion on each topic.
